I did my university degrees in creative writing, literature and theology, and am a graduate of Yale Divinity School, where I studied at the Institute of Sacred Music. After Yale, I received a summer Fulbright scholarship to study Irish in the Donegal Gaeltacht, and continued to live in Northern Ireland for five years, writing for Slugger O’Toole, the Belfast Telegraph, and other online platforms about faith, politics, and culture. My wife and I resettled in London after our time in Belfast for work and soon joined the Community of St Anselm at Lambeth Palace as non-resident members for an intensive year of prayer, study and service. We now have a little boy and share a home and the challenges of urban parenting with another family. Corbyn, Trump, Brexit and other shock political events in recent years sent me on a journey of faith and discovery. I’ve come back to this blog after a few years of neglect to write about Catholicism, Anglicanism, literature, and politics to spark conversation and meet new people.
